Anadolu Efes Basketball Team has parted ways with French player Vincent Poirier. The blue-whites announced that they have separated from the 32-year-old pivot, who was included in the squad at the beginning of the 2024-2025 season.
Why the Separation?
Poirier was injured in the Achilles tendon in the first match of the Basketball Super League playoff semi-final series against Fenerbahçe Beko. The experienced basketball player, who underwent surgery in his country, was announced to be away from the fields for 8-9 months.
Poirier's Performance
Poirier averaged 8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 14 European League games last season. In the Basketball Super League, Poirier averaged 10.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 12 games.
Future Plans
The 32-year-old pivot is the fifth player to part ways with Anadolu Efes after a disappointing season. The blue-whites have also parted ways with Saben Lee, Nick Weiler-Babb, Rolands Smits, and Cole Swider. Anadolu Efes has added former player Dario Saric to its squad and signed a new 1+1 year contract with Jordan Loyd.
As a result, Anadolu Efes's last game was: | Team | Opponent | Score | Date | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Anadolu Efes | Tofas | 97-72 | 2025-04-07 |
